Phone Maintenance - June 23, 2009
At approximately 9:45am EST today AIT was forced to perform emergency maintenance on the phone systems. During this time we are unable to accept calls coming into our primary phone numbers 877-209-51XX. We are working to restore this access for our customers; in the meantime we are able to accept calls from our local numbers (910)321-1200. During this time we urge our customers to put in a ticket through their Online Customer Care Center which is available at https://order.aitcom.net or use our local number to connect.
Server Upgrades - June 1, 2009
During the month of June, we will be migrating many existing customers to new servers as part of a scheduled upgrade. Customers being migrated should receive an e-mail similar to the below message. Note that this will only affect customers on our Linux platforms, and only those on the RedHat operating system; Fedora Core and CentOS customers will not be affected.
"You are being notified that your existing account with AIT is scheduled for migration to a new Operating System in the next available maintenance window over the course of the next few weeks. Migrations have started, and will continue to be done by our engineering team in charge of these upgrades through the next few weeks. This new Operating System is still fully managed by AIT and no harm will come to your data. Your data is backed up and can be retrieved from any point prior to the migration.
You are being notified because of version upgrades to several core parts of your service. For example, the current software versions for your account are below.

As you may have noted, they are old, and out-of-date. AIT is upgrading your service to offer the following upgrades. These upgrades are free of charge.

As such, if you have concerns, questions or other potential issues, please let us know. In most cases, customers will not notice the difference in the operations of their website unless there are specific applications that only work under PHP version 4 and not PHP version 5. This is the minority. If you're not sure, you can ask us to confirm, however we're only informing you as a courtesy.

Do I need to do anything?
No, you do not need to take any action unless you have PHP code that is not compatible with PHP version 5.0.
Will my IP change?
No, your IP will not change.
Will I see downtime?
It is not expected that you will see any downtime, as the migration is being done on an account-by-account basis. Thus, you should not see downtime.

Free Inline AntiSpam Service - Now Powered by tyBit
Our free Inline AntiSpam service is now being powered by tyBit Unified Search Inc.. If you currently use the Inline AntiSpam service there will be an anchor tag placed at the bottom of each email you receive which was filtered by the Barracuda. This tag is neither removable nor customizable. If you wish to still have your email filtered by a Barracuda AntiSpam server, but do not wish to have the anchor tag placed on any of your incoming emails, then you will need to move to our new Inline AnitSpam Pro service. Email/Virus Phishing Scam
NOTICE: AIT includes our phone number in our emails and does NOT send attachments unless you request a specific file from us. Any email appearing to be from AIT that does not have our phone number SHOULD BE DELETED.
Emails that say... Dear YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS user, Your e-mail account was used to send a huge amount of unsolicited spam messages during the recent week ... OR We have temporarily suspended your email account YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. are NOT from AIT. These emails should immediately be deleted. Also ensure you do not open any attachments. These emails are generated from computers who have been infected with a virus. This virus will go through someone's address book looking for service provider contact information, such as AIT or even our resellers.
AITDomains Mail Fraud Notification
Some customers with AIT Domains are receiving renewal notices via regular postal mail telling them that their domain is coming up for renewal and that they should send a check in with the enclosed form. AIT Domains will never send such a notice; all notices come in e-mail and will direct you to the AIT Domains website. These are actually rival registrars who will charge you for a transfer to their company rather than a renewal as stated. You should discard any such postal messages.
